RTA lays down rules for trading in number plates

The article discusses the growing trade in individual private number plates in Dubai. While the plates are issued by the government there is a thriving trade between individuals for certain plates due to the prestige from the plates. There is a new law in place that will standardize the trade and protect the “interests of all parties concerned”. This will also move the trade into legal channels.
